We Service What We Build - and What Others Build Too
TANN provides repairs and upgrades for thermal oxidizer systems of all makes and models. Whether you are dealing with a performance issue, planning improvements during a scheduled outage, or evaluating options for aging equipment, our team has the in-house capability to evaluate, design, fabricate, and install the right solution.
TANN handles the full scope in-house. Our engineers, fabricators, and field technicians work together from initial evaluation through installation and startup - all under one roof in Kaukauna, Wisconsin.
Common Oxidizer Upgrades
Upgrades and retrofits are one of the most cost-effective ways to improve performance, extend equipment life, and address reliability issues without replacing the entire system. These are some of the most common upgrade projects TANN completes.
Poppet Valve Retrofits
Poppet valves control the airflow switching cycle that makes regenerative heat recovery possible. Aging or poorly performing valves cause bypass leakage, reduce destruction efficiency, and increase maintenance frequency. TANN designs and fabricates poppet valve retrofit packages for systems originally built by TANN and other manufacturers.
PLC and Controls Upgrades
Aging control systems create reliability risks and make troubleshooting difficult. TANN upgrades PLC platforms, HMI screens, and control panels to improve system reliability, add remote monitoring capability, and bring aging systems up to current standards - without replacing the oxidizer itself.
Burner Upgrades and Repairs
Burner performance directly affects operating temperature, fuel consumption, and destruction efficiency. TANN evaluates burner condition, repairs components where appropriate, and upgrades burner systems where performance or reliability improvements are needed.
Concentrator Retrofits
For facilities with high-volume, low-concentration exhaust streams, a zeolite concentrator paired with an oxidizer can significantly reduce operating costs. TANN designs and installs concentrator retrofit packages for existing oxidizer systems where this combination makes sense for the application.
Insulation and Structural Repairs
Degraded refractory insulation and structural repairs are common on older systems. TANN's field crews handle insulation relining, shell repairs, expansion joint replacement, and other structural work coordinated around your planned outage schedule.
Custom Fabrication and Repairs
Not every repair fits a standard scope. TANN has in-house engineering, drafting, and fabrication capabilities to design and build custom solutions for unusual or complex repair situations on any oxidizer system regardless of original manufacturer.
From Evaluation to Completion
Every repair and upgrade project starts with understanding the problem. TANN does not sell a standard scope before understanding your system and what it needs.
Initial Evaluation
We review the issue, system history, and available documentation. Depending on the situation this may start with a phone call or move directly to an on-site inspection by a TANN technician or engineer.
Scope Development
TANN develops a repair or upgrade scope based on the evaluation findings. For complex projects this includes engineering review, drawings, and a detailed plan coordinated around your outage schedule.
Fabrication
Where custom components are required, TANN fabricates them in-house at our Kaukauna, Wisconsin facility. In-house fabrication gives us direct control over quality and lead time.
Installation and Startup
TANN's own crew handles installation and commissioning. We do not hand off the work to a third party. Startup verification confirms the system is performing correctly before we leave the site.
