Position Overview
TANN Corporation is seeking a skilled Traveling Electrician to support the installation, startup, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial air pollution control equipment throughout North America.
This position combines hands-on electrical work with travel to customer facilities, where you will install, inspect, repair, and troubleshoot electrical systems, controls, instrumentation, and related equipment. The ideal candidate has strong electrical troubleshooting skills, enjoys working in industrial environments, and takes pride in delivering quality work and customer service.
This is a full-time position requiring approximately 50%β75% travel. Candidates should be comfortable working independently in the field while collaborating closely with the Technical Services team.
What You'll Do
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, controls, instrumentation, and related equipment.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical drawings.
- Troubleshoot electrical issues and develop practical, cost-effective solutions.
- Inspect electrical systems and verify compliance with NEC and applicable codes.
- Support equipment startups, commissioning activities, and field service projects.
- Collaborate with customers, contractors, and other trades on installation and service projects.
- Maintain accurate service reports, documentation, and project records.
- Follow company safety standards and contribute to a safe work environment.
Minimum Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in the electrical trade.
- Knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) and Wisconsin electrical codes.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Preferred Qualifications
- Wisconsin Journeyman or Master Electrician license.
- Experience with commercial or industrial electrical systems.
- Experience with PLCs, automation systems, VFDs, or industrial controls.
- Experience with combustion systems, burners, oxidizers, or process equipment.
