Position Overview

Seeking a motivated and experienced Field Service Technician with strong electrical and mechanical skills to join our team.

Our technicians provide customers with technical support and services during scheduled field visits and through remote phone and email communication. The chosen candidate will be trained to provide predictive/preventative maintenance and repair of our regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTOs) as well as related equipment.

This is a full-time position and does require frequent travel. Since the hours for this position would be split between field work and work performed at our corporate office in Kaukauna, the ideal candidate would reside near the Fox Valley area.

Shop Responsibilities

  • Electrical dress-out of equipment, run conduit, wire and terminate
  • Build UL electrical cabinets
  • Run air pipe
  • Build gas trains
  • Run instrumentation tubing
  • Work on research and development projects
  • Refurbish equipment
  • QA equipment built by our vendors
  • Understand safety practices and procedures and continually implementing them in the workplace or while working remotely, maintaining a low-risk tolerance and high-risk awareness

Field Service Responsibilities

  • Provide service and support on regenerative thermal oxidizers and related equipment
  • Build positive relationships with customers and provide training as needed
  • Comprehend customer requirements and relay appropriate recommendations/briefings, including opportunities for additional services, equipment or part upgrades
  • Field installation of equipment, air piping, instrumentation, gas piping and electrical
  • Cooperate with technical team and share information across the organization
  • Manage all on-site installation, repair, maintenance and test tasks, including diagnosing errors or technical problems and determining proper solutions.
  • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance on industrial/graphic arts dryers and related equipment
  • Produce timely, accurate and detailed paperwork, including service reports, expense reports, timecards and support documentation
  • Help to provide technical phone support and help with our 24-hour service hotline

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in electrical or mechanical technology or related field, or:
    • 5 years of experience in servicing related industrial equipment
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Able to travel domestically and internationally frequently
  • Professional and organized with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to design, read and understand electrical schematics
  • Capable of working independently and with other team members
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook and other mobile tools and applications)
  • Able to troubleshoot, test, repair and service technical equipment
  • Ability to work with and understand electricity, pneumatics, electronics, mechanics, airflows and gas flow
  • Proven mechanical aptitude
  • Exhibit exceptional communication and customer relations skills
  • Knowledge of PLC programming and an understanding of HMI and VFD drives
  • Industrial electromechanical experience

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of dryer equipment related to the printing industry or automotive industries

Some of the typical physical demands used in performing tasks associated with this position include:

  • Exposure to a variety of different manufacturing and assembly environments
  • Frequent exposure to dust, noise and smells
  • Employees must be in good general health with good mental focus, agility, balance and vision (includes close vision work, depth perception and peripheral vision)
  • Lifting, pulling, pushing, reaching, climbing, kneeling, crawling, hand manipulation and standing for extended amounts of time
  • Exposure to all weather and temperature variations
