Position Overview

TANN Corporation is seeking a motivated Technical Services Specialist to support the installation, startup, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of regenerative thermal oxidizers (RTOs) and related industrial equipment.

This role combines hands-on field service work with in-house electrical and mechanical assembly. The ideal candidate has strong troubleshooting skills, enjoys solving technical problems, and is comfortable working directly with customers in industrial environments.

This is a full-time position with approximately 50% travel. Candidates should be comfortable traveling throughout North America and working independently in the field while maintaining close communication with the Technical Services team.

What You'll Do

  • Commission regenerative thermal oxidizers and related equipment at customer facilities.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, controls, and process-related issues.
  • Perform predictive and preventive maintenance, inspections, and system audits.
  • Configure and support PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Assemble, wire, and test electrical panels and industrial equipment in our UL panel shop.
  • Build and install gas trains, conduit, instrumentation tubing, and process components.
  • Perform fan balancing, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, and equipment diagnostics.
  • Develop service reports, recommendations, and documentation while building strong customer relationships.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Electrical, mechanical, maintenance, or industrial service experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
  • Valid driver's license and strong communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, and industrial controls.
  • Knowledge of combustion systems, burners, oxidizers, or industrial process equipment.
  • Familiarity with NFPA, NEC, or UL508A standards.
  • Experience with instrumentation, vibration analysis, thermal imaging, or predictive maintenance technologies.
